GO! Book Buddy 2017-2018 (Johnson Elementary)

October 2nd - May 1st, 2018

What: Serve as a Book Buddy to a 2nd and 3rd Grade Males at Johnson Elementary.

Who: Adults and older students are welcome. Must have availability to meet during school hours (8:00am - 1:30pm).

When: Meet with a student 25-30 minutes a week. Time is flexible. You can meet with your student any time during school hours.

Program Dates: October 2017 - May 2018

Training Date: September 24, 2017

Mentor: We will not continue our weekly Mentor program this year. All those interested in Mentoring their student from the previous year(s) are asked to take a couple times a semester to meet with the student to check in and encourage. Our Mentor program has grown so big that we are pulling too many of Johnson's 4th & 5th graders out of their classrooms each week.

A unique monthly opportunity for husbands and wives to spend a few hours with their spouse without having to worry about the kids. It's 4 hours of quality and entertaining childcare for children birth through 5th grade.

PLEASE NOTE: You are registering your children for this event, not yourself. Please login as yourself, but be sure to select "Register Someone Else" when prompted . You will need to register each of your children attending the first time, then you will be grouped as a family and you can simply check which ones in your family are registering for future events.

This is for ALL 7th graders (boys and girls). It will last from 7pm Friday night, 1/26 to 7am Saturday morning, 1/27. We will be going to a movie at 8pm, so everyone please be sure to check your 7th grader in by 7:15pm on the 3rd floor Faith building. We will also have a devotional time, many game times (with prizes), watch more movies, and just have a great time altogether.
Bring: Sleeping bag; pillow / Eat Before you come; We will have pizza around midnight / You will pick up your 7th Grader at the ROC at 7am on Saturday, 1/27.

Night to Shine is a prom experience centered on God's love for people with special needs, ages 16 and older. This night is only possible through the help of volunteers! No experience with special needs is necessary; just a desire to share the love of Christ. Here are just some of the ways in which you can serve: decorating, greeting, acting as "paparazzi", serving as a buddy to a prom-goer, serving in the respite room, styling hair and make-up, shoe shining, etc... Come join us! You are sure to be blessed by this unforgettable event!

La mission trip

LA Mission Trip for High School (9th-12th Grades)

March 12th - March 16th, 2018


50 High School students and parents from Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison, MS, will be doing mission work in Los Angeles, CA for one week. Helping the community by doing sports camps, community projects, and small construction. Cost is $1,200. Deposit of $200 is due by Novembr 19, 2017. Remaining balance of $1,000 is due by March 4, 2018.

Because of the complexities of this trip, please be sure you have had a discussion with a TEAM LEADER about space availability and team dynamics before registering.

WHO: Adults, groups of college students, and friends of friends can join us. Team members should be able to manage a steep mountain hike and a strenuous work project daily.

WHAT: Broadmoor partners in Haiti with But God Ministries (BGM), founded by Broadmoor member Stan Buckley. BGM builds sustainable communities, including a medical/dental clinic, more than 40 houses, churches, water wells, an orphanage, and dorms for visiting teams, all for the sake of leading the lost to Jesus. Sleeping conditions are private, safe, and secure. The food is similar to New Orleans creole.

WHERE: BGM has two communities, one in Galette Chambon approximately 18 miles east of the Port-au-Prince airport, and another in Thoman, 35 miles from the airport. This trip is to Thoman.

HOW: This team will be working daily on water lines on a steep mountain. The hike up the mountain can be very strenuous, and the planned tasks will involve significant physical labor.

Super Summer 2018

Super Summer is for students who will complete the 8th Grade thru 12th Grade at the end of this school year 2017-2018. It is a discipleship/evangelism leadership conference designed to provide qualitative spiritual growth and help develop student leadership in Mississippi churches. Utilizing a camp setting, for 30 years, Super Summer has challenged students to learn how to penetrate their culture for Christ. Super Summer is designed for students who personally have a desire to grow spiritually. Students come to Super Summer knowing that they will be challenged not only to grow, but to actively share their faith with others. In order to attend Super Summer, there are a number of requirements you have to complete.

Registration is open now and ends January 15, 2018. Cost is $250 and deposit of $75 is nonrefundable.
